On Wednesday students in year 12 who are planning to study dentistry and medicine at university, had the opportunity to meet a variety of doctors and medical students at this year’s Meet a Medic event.
One of those visiting us was Alice Ward, an alumni of Southmoor who is currently in her second year of her medical training at Cambridge University. Others present were from Newcastle University, the A&E ward at the queen Elizabeth hospital and the Maxofacial ward at Sunderland Royal. Students were able to have informal conversations about each professionals career path and hints for their upcoming applications and interviews as well as face a couple of questions about their desire to pursue medical careers. In the coming months our Medigroup students will face mock interviews and UKCAT tests, alongside continued work on their UCAS applications and gaining vital work experience.
