Year 12 Survey the Lake District

It has been a busy field trip time for the Year 12 geographers.  Last week they spent 3 days at Derwent Hill completing a range of fieldwork tasks; from questionnaires and surveys in Keswick to climbing Helvellyn to study glacial landforms.  Staff were so proud of their resilience and teamwork, which culminated in a high ropes challenge.  This week they travelled to the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle to study regeneration and see how this former industrial area has been impacted by gentrification and studentification.  These fieldwork skills be assessed in their upcoming AS examinations.
