Packing Bags for Berlin

Students from our up-coming Berlin trip staged a bag-pack at a local supermarket to raise funds for the trip. The group raised a fantastic £700 meaning that tickets for the famous TV Tower in Berlin can now be booked. Well done everyone!

James Cook Mini-Medical School

Aspiring doctors in Year 12 attended a ‘Mini Medical School’ lecture series at James Cook Hospital where topics included: ‘Medicine at the Sharp Edge’ with Dr Jeff Doran, ‘Exploring General Practice’ with Dr Hugh Alberti and Dr Adedoyin and ‘Painting a Picture of the Skin; Warts and All’ with Dr Rob Ellis.

Stem Cell Sign-Up

We hosted representatives from Anthony Nolan, a medical charity who support research into stem cells and blood cancer. Sixth Form students were encouraged to sign up to the donor register in the hope of helping patients with blood cancer or a blood disorder to receive lifesaving stem cell transplants.
