Sociology of Time

Dr Cora Lingling Xu visited our A-level sociologists to talk about her research into ‘time inheritance mapping’. Using Bourdieu’s concept of capital, she looked at the time taken to accumulate different kinds of capital, and how we ‘inherit’ different amounts of time. We looked at our own familial, national and international inheritance, and how we might leverage different inequalities.
