With the recent publication of school’s results from across the country it has been revealed that our Sixth Form is looking in increadably good standing amongst the dozens of other institutions across the wider North East. From Middlesbrough to Sunderland, Newcastle to Northumberland, many of the North East’s recent school leavers excelled in their A Levels last year – and their schools have now got the stats to prove it.

Schools were ranked by their A Level performance point scores, a unique measurement derived from students’ A Level results that gives them a score out of 60. We’re very pleased that Southmoor come in at number 11 on this measure, putting us just outside of the top 10 sixth forms in our entire region, an amazing achievement considering our Sixth Form has been around for just ten years this year.
Well done to all of our staff who have worked hard to provide excellent results for our sixth form students over the last decade and to the dedicated students who have worked hard to obtain them. There is no time to be complacent, however, and we will continue to deliver ever improving teaching, one-to-one support and widening opportunities for all of our students so that very soon, we will be amongst the top ten!
