Last week was the first of a new series of Aspire lectures for students in Year 12. Every fortnight, students will have the opportunity to hear from external speakers from industry, education and other sectors. Our first visitor was Sergio Petrucci, CEO of Red Sky Foundation.
Sergio spoke to Year 12 about the origins of Red Sky Foundation and the story behind the charity. He spoke to students about how the charity has grown immensely over the last 5 years. Sergio gave students a demonstration on how to use a defibrillator to restart a heart and potentially save a life. Students also had the opportunity to learn about the huge range of volunteering opportunities that are available with the charity and Sergio would encourage all students to get involved and support where they can. His message was truly inspirational. Next week, Sergio will deliver the same messages to our Year 13 students as they start their fortnightly Aspire lecture programme.
