Investigating Medieval Childhoods

Dr Rachael Harkes from Durham University delivered a guest lecture to our Year 12 Sociologists this week. Linking to the topic of Families and Households, Rachael gave students an overview of the experience of childhood in medieval times. Students analysed primary sources such as paintings and literary extracts, and learned about the importance of work and play.
