A group of Year 12 engineering students were invited to Newcastle Airport Aviation College. Students had the chance to see the facilities they offer. Students had a tour of the facilities, meet lectures and current higher education students. Students went into the body shop and saw planes being worked on. They had the chance to stand near to the runway and saw an Emirates plane take off to Dubai. Students also completed a range of practical tasks that included wiring components up to make the lights work on the plane, disassembling pistons and even flew the plane in the simulator.
