Field Work with a View

Year 12 Geographers completed 3 days field work in the Lake District this week, based at Derwent Hill. They collected data for their coursework in Keswick, completed orienteering and rocketing building challenges on the Monday. Tuesday was spent successfully climbing Helvellyn, England’s third highest mountain!

On the way up and down, we were considering the extent to which glaciation had changed the landscape. Students undertook this challenging climb with great resilience and determination. The last day we were lucky enough for the sun to still be shining while we completed a gorge walk.
