Sixth Form student Emma Cameron has been making the best of the current lockdown situation by signing up to virtual work experience as a GP as well as starting her Brighton and Sussex Medical work experience. Emma observed videos explaining the different aspects of working at a GP surgery as well as videos in the consultation rooms so she could see interactions with patients. It highlighted key words and allowed questions throughout the videos.
Lucy Bulmer has also taken part in medical work experience. Lucy learnt about the history, organisation and funding of the NHS, the key principles, roles and responsibilities of a GP, common medical specialities and problems, members of a MDT, positive and negative aspects of being a GP, pathway of training and current and future challenges. Well done!
