We are very proud to be the official school in the Northeast that is part of the Sunbelt Rentals Beacon Schools Project. On Tuesday, our Year 12 Engineering students took part in the first part of this project with a visit to the AESC Gigafactory being built by Wates in Washington. During the visit, our students took part in a range of employability skills tasks, they also had a tour of the huge plant being built which will supply car batteries and learn more from the team at Sunbelt Rentals and Wates about the range of careers available in this sector. The second part of the project will involve workshops led by Sunbelt Rentals taking place in school in March. Finally, 8 students will have the opportunity to take part in a paid work experience placement later in the summer.
