Articulation is a National Art Speaking Competition where approximately 4,000 young people a year take part in 10 regions in England, an equal balance of state and independent schools take part throughout the competition.
Daisy Johnston in Year 12 who studies both Fine Art and Photography competed in the on-line (due to COVID restrictions) Articulation competition against students from across the North East and Yorkshire last week. She has worked very hard her 10- minute talk during lockdown on top of her A level subjects.
Prof Richard Clay a Professor of Digital Cultures at Newcastle University and BBC presenter who adjudicated the event described all presentations as ‘astonishingly good’. He praised Daisy for her astute visual analysis and for producing such a convincing argument in a very short amount of time. He additionally thanked Daisy for introducing him to an artwork he never knew existed, describing it as an ‘amazing revelation’. Well done Poppy!
