This course enables students who have studied on the combined GCSE route to further advice their knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles associated with the application of biology, chemistry and physics, they will also study experimental and practical techniques associated with applied science and the roles and skills of scientists, and the public and media perception of science.
This qualification is supported by a range of universities, and taken alongside other qualifications it can fulfil the entry requirements for a number of science-related higher education courses, including biomedical, forensic and sports science, as well as nursing. In addition, the qualification is eligible for UCAS points.
Entry Requirements
Grade 5 in 2 GCSE Science subjects or Grade 5-5 in Science (Combined) and Grade 5 at GCSE Mathematics.
