It was another successful year for academic performance and progression, we are very proud of the students’ achievements and, as ever, it is great to see all their hard work and commitment rewarded.
2024 Outcomes
Results at Southmoor Academy Sixth Form have continued to be exceptional as grading moves back towards its pre-pandemic levels. There have been many happy faces and our students have some very exciting future destinations for them to be excited about. See for yourself in the video taken on results day 2023 below!

2024 Destinations
Our Year 13 students have secured a range of fantastic university places. Charlie Harrison is now studying Mathematics at Emmanuel College, Cambridge having achieved A*A*A*A in his A-levels. Several students headed to Durham University including Joseph Darby and Luke Rutter to study Accounting and Finance, Rosie Greenwood to study English Literature, Samantha Hope to study Primary Education and Jay Lewis to study Anthropology and Sociology. Eva Grewal headed to UCL to study History and Ben Scott went to Glasgow University to do Archaeology.
Some students are beginning competitive health care related courses including Holly Murtha who will be studying Pharmacy at Sunderland and Lucy Parker and Madison Jardine who will be studying Paramedic Science, also at Sunderland University. A large number of students have secured places at Newcastle University for a wide range of courses including Law, Physics, Biochemistry, Sociology, Biomedical Genetics and Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry. Three students headed to York to study Law (Guy Harris), Physical Geography and Environment (Anneka Liddle) and History (Erin Miller).
