A Level at Southmoor History allows students to study fascinating periods of English, German, and American History in a much greater depth than KS3 and GCSE allowed for. This enables students to really gain both a broad sweep and a rich depth of history allowing for the personalities of the periods to be studied and understood in a way that GCSE simply does not allow time for.
The course overall is ideal for students wanting to study pure history, history combined with another subject, or a history related subject at university. The skills in research, analysis, formulation of argument, and communication are perfectly suited for careers in law, the civil service, journalism, marketing, media, and many more.
