The Sixth Form at Southmoor is into its second year, and we are going from strength to strength. With 154 students on roll, UCAS applications submitted, and AS results in the bag, it’s not just a pipe dream any more. We set out to provide something different, to build an environment that supports students in aspiring to the very best universities and careers, while also providing the care and individual attention that we all need to truly flourish.
The results are there for all to see. It’s not just the exam results – although statistics like 22% of students gaining more that 3 A-B, 27% A grades in Psychology or 100% A-C in AS maths don’t hurt – but the personal transformations, the lessons learned and the skills developed.
Because that’s what we believe Sixth Form education is all about. Academic excellence and high aspirations come as a matter of course, but underlying everything we do is the effort to turn out good people, committed citizens and future leaders. With applications from outside Southmoor doubling after our first year, we can see that people agree with us. Why not see for yourself?
