During Wednesday morning’s Year 12 assemblies, students were introduced to a very exciting opportunity to take part in a programme with the Social Mobility Business Partnership as part of their WISE (Work Insight and Skills Experience) scheme. This week-long project takes place in July, and students will have the opportunity to visit 5 different businesses across the course of the week in the north-east area, with all transport and food provided.
Within each business, students will have the opportunity to learn about what the business does and take part in some projects and challenges during each visit. After completing the programme, students will then become an Ambassador where they will have access to lots of resources to support future career pathways and plans. Even though this opportunity will take place outside of the normal work experience week, it will still be the equivalent of work experience and will count towards that.
