For last week’s Year 12 Personal Development lessons, we welcomed Sarah Schofield from Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service into school to deliver a workshop with students as part of a pre-driver programme. The aim of the workshop was to support students in keeping safe as a passenger and a driver, understand the potential consequences on the road and develop a range of strategies to help get out of difficult situations when in a vehicle. Students had the opportunity to explore the law with regards to the use of alcohol, drugs and using a mobile phone behind the wheel and to think about the dangers of peer pressure. In Year 13, students will take part in another workshop involving outside agencies on the same theme.
