Students in Year 12 were introduced to the ‘Sunderland First Choice’ scheme; this is a 2-year programme which allows students to experience HE, from subject-based teaching and activities, to student life and societies. Students who successfully complete the programme and attend the summer school will be eligible for 16 tariff points – equivalent to two A-level grades reduced from their Sunderland University offer.
