We welcomed the Department of Education who gave an assembly to Year 12 about apprenticeships, focusing on how they are different to a degree and university and what doing an apprenticeship is actually like, explained by actual apprentices. Students were also given details on who is actively recruiting apprentices and how they can apply for them.
This assembly is part of our aspirations program that is running throughout personal development in the summer term, helping our Year 12 students consider what might be next for them after Sixth Form and what doors that might open beyond. We aim to provide a broad exposure to all possible next steps for our students and support them in their goals, whether that be going to university, training for an apprenticeship, or going into employment.
