Last Tuesday, Southmoor Academy hosted a ‘Study Skills Day’ for the North East cohort of OxNet. This year, a selection of Year 12 students from across the North East will partake in the ‘Heritage 360’ programme. ‘Heritage-360’ is a new initiative for 2024, which is based on connecting collaborative practice between natural and cultural heritage in the region. The hugely successful Skills Day was the first in-person event of this year’s programme.
The day’s exciting agenda involved a talk titled ‘Study Skills for University’, delivered by Dr Peter Claus of Pembroke College, Oxford, as well as an introductory subject lecture titled ‘What is Heritage and Why It Should Matter to You’ by Professor Gasper, head of the Heritage-360 programme.
The Southmoor Sixth Form students in attendance were Zara Hussain, Zunairah Ahmed, and Beth Harrison.
