Year 12 Geographers stayed at Derwent Hill to complete fieldwork in the Lake District. Gorge Walking was the perfect activity to refresh their knowledge on river landforms and erosion. Everyone showed resilience and humor whilst getting soaking wet and sliding up and down rocks! In Keswick they saw first hand examples of flood defences and had the opportunity to practice sampling techniques – which they will need for their Independent Investigation (which they will continue to collect data for over the summer holidays). Well done and thank you to everyone who took part, it was a fun example of geography field work.
